shakuhachi? are you there?

well well well. yes we have been waiting since september 11th for this "online shopping" thing Shakuhachi has been telling us about. I am still waiting eagerly.

what a week!

2009 AIR NEW ZEALAND FASHION WEEK is over and went out with a bang with famous DJ and Pamela Anderson pal Richie Rich (of Heatherette) hosting a wrap party in Auckland City's Shanghai Lils on Saturday night. Whether he actually dj'd or not is a mystery as i didn't see him at all behind the decks, although he made himself very noticed the previous night at his release of S/S 10 A*Muse with design partner Pamela. I was having a sneaky peek at the collection before we wheeled them out backstage - and top marks for pretty cool/outragaeous stuff! Richie Rich was a pretty flamboyant guy.. or should i say girl?

What inspiring collections we had this season - from Cybele's goreous silky dresses with puff sleeves to 27 Names' luscious woolens and leg warmers. As i was a lucky (and freakin busy) girl who was dressing the models for shows, i met some of the most awesome models.

This girl Stacey is 16 (!!!), speaks fluent japanese, is still at school and was a talking nutritionist. (Note: "Potato juice is a great skin firmer and closes pores" - it really works. "Use sugar to exfoliate lips") She was an inspiration to me because of her ability to juggle school exams, international fashion weeks, bitchy stage managers and a hectic schedule of 5am call times.
She was down to earth and it was refreshing to meet a stunning person who was so at ease with everything.

I was so stoked to meet Rumi Neely (fashion blogger - fashiontoast.com), she is more beautiful in real life and Colin (mega hottie) is pretty damn awesome too.

Inspiration

I forgot how beautiful and inspiring Spring is. The gorgeous smell and colours of flowers combined with cloudless sky and perfect heat is just heaven! And amen to sleep ins due to no school this week. I took this picture on the way to Dreamers Cafe this morning. Good old Kiwi cows in the background

With Air New Zealand Fashioin Week just around the corner, the media is buzzing over what great international fashion heroes we will be priveleged to have in the front row of the shows. I hope it all goes well for all those young aspiring deisigners who put their blood and guts (and saved pennies) into launching their brand. Looking forward to seeing Emmaford swimwear, who only this time last year was working at Browns in Remuera, doing the swimwear as a part time thing. Good luck to her! Also looking forward to seeing the usuals like Trelise Cooper and Karen Walker who never fail to impress!

These are some of my faves from Karen Walker's Resort Mainline S/S 09.

J'adore fluro Blazer! <3>
I feel like i have heaaaps of things to talk about on here so i think i might just put up heaps of pictures to let out some brain clutter. Then let the blogs roll in! Hope everyone had a great weekend! X
this little frilly number is from LittleGracie - new Perth Designer (see right for her blog)

credit cards: danger zone

Yay for Shakuhachi having an online store opening September 11, although this may be a bad excuse to whip out the credit card and spend up on summer goodies! I've been trying to get hold of the floral dress (top right) since they released it in their S/S drop last year. Its more amazing in real life.

Some other Summer things I’m excited for are:
hot sunsets, feijoa 42 below, lace, corsets, Kathryn Wilson heels, polka dots, baby pink nail polish, owls, white kittens, wolves and top hats, coral lycra, fluoro blazers, Morange and Fuscia MAC lipstick, leather gloves.

And frilly sleeves ("Weapons of mass seduction" - SGC) long long long beach hair. French Accents for girls, english accents for boys (with cute geeky glasses). Chunky heels and rings, Karen Walker sunglasses, tan, itouch, lemon cupcakes, ripped denim. Acid denim, blunt fringes, black fros.

stalker girl

i've been follwing Karl Lagerfeld on twitter and he has been just blurting out these insprational quotes. He is obviously the mastermind of not only CHANEL (ive been a little obsessed with eveything Chanel lately - typical girl) but a multi gazzillionare with famous friends and a lyrical genius too! Tsssk too many talents. Check these out:

"The imagination can transform all sorts of personal insanity into elements of self-invention, and you need to make use of this."

"Don't look to the approval of others for your mental stability."

"The most important thing is to do things, not to have done them."

"A sufficient appearance makes people more interested in your soul."

"Guilty feelings about clothes are totally unnecessary. A lot of people earn their living by making clothes, so you should never feel bad."

Throught id throw that last one in just for my own justification for splurging on unnecessaries.

Someone else who is great to stalk is Rumi Neely.. (see Fashiontoast link to the right)

She lives and breathes on the pulse of fashion in New York. Her blogs are funny.. Hot boyf too lucky girl!

rainbow love

While i was doing some spotlight shopping, i was overwhelmed with things i forgot even existed. Aisles and aisles and aisles of craft supplies! It reminded me that i need to be more creative. After buying some pretty lace I left feeling a little claustrophobic.

However while driving home i spotted this amazing rainbow which made my day!

Thank you Chanel

Spare time?

for those with a crazy adddiction to the beauty and elegance of Audrey Tautou, or Coco the mindmaster behind Chanel, be prepared for a movie that will inspire. I saw this with Sister, Mum and Grandma, we all had a sparkle in our eye for the rest of the evening knowing that this icon had changed the way women dress forever.
